A story in three street-level stops
The GW initials mark the traditional execution place of reformer George Wishart on 1 March 1546. The nearby Martyrs' Monument, erected in 1842–43, shows how the nineteenth century chose to commemorate Wishart, Patrick Hamilton, Henry Forrest and Walter Myln.
